Children's Content Funding Framework for final feedback

NZ On Air has recently undertaken work to update our Children’s Content Funding Framework – with some key changes to how we plan to reach and strengthen onscreen representation of tamariki and rangatahi aged 0 – 14 years in Aotearoa in 2022-2023.

This strategy is led by audience research and is actively seeking ways to be present in more places where children spend time consuming media. This includes local platforms, as well as YouTube Kids and other digital-first platforms.

NZ On Air has created a Children's Content Funding Framework document for final sector feedback before the round guidelines are published later this week. It is available to read here.

The document outlines the key components of the updated strategy and provides guidance for producers who intend to apply for children’s content funding in the 2022-2023 financial year.

We highly encourage you to read the consultation document and consider how the updated funding framework may impact your mahi. Please send all feedback or pātai to Head Of Funding Amie Mills, amie@nzonair.govt.nz, by midday 25 May 2022.

NZ On Air intends to publish the final version of the Children's Content Funding Framework on 27 May 2022, alongside the guidelines for the upcoming September funding round.
