Current funding round

Round Rua

Round Rua is the second funding round of the 2026/27 financial year. We will accept applications across the following audiences and content genres: Scripted, Non-fiction, Children, Youth, Content Development, Capability and Discoverability.

Approximately $10m has been allocated for Non-fiction projects in this round.

Approximately $8m has been allocated for Scripted projects in this round.

Approximately $5m has been allocated for Tamariki content in this round.

Approximately $1m has been allocated for Rangatahi content in this round.

Irirangi Te Motu | NZ On Air - Te Māngai Pāho Reo Māori Content Co-Fund

NZ On Air and Te Māngai Pāho have once again joined forces on a Reo Māori Content Co-Fund.

The joint co-fund, which will distribute approximately $8m, is seeking proposals for high quality Scripted, Scripted Development and Non-Fiction reo Māori screen content for a broad audience.

You can find the RFP for the Reo Māori Content Co-Fund below.

Applications for the co-fund will be managed and processed by Te Māngai Pāho. To apply, you must first register with Te Pūahatanga, Te Māngai Pāho’s online application system. Registrations can take up to three days to process so make sure you register well in advance of the funding deadline.

Applications close – Thursday 27 August 2026

Decisions announced – Friday 30 October 2026
