Funding rounds for Scripted and Non-fiction content

Round Tahi

Round Tahi is the first funding round of the 2026/27 financial year. We will accept applications across the following audiences and content genres: Drama, Comedy, Documentary and General Factual, Children, Youth, Journalism, Podcasts, Content Development, Capability and Discoverability.

Approximately $9m has been allocated for Non-fiction projects in this round.

Approximately $8m has been allocated for Scripted projects in this round.

Approximately $4m has been allocated for Tamariki content in this round.

Approximately $1m has been allocated for Rangatahi content in this round.

We have also created a document looking to the year ahead (2025/26) which may help producers and platforms to plan their content applications. Please note the projected allocations in this document may be subject to change following the confirmation of our budget from Government in May.

Irirangi Te Motu | NZ On Air - Te Māngai Pāho Reo Māori Content Co-Fund

NZ On Air and Te Māngai Pāho are once again joining forces on a Reo Māori Content Co-Fund.

Applications for the co-fund will be managed and processed by Te Māngai Pāho. More details on the co-fund guidelines will be available in the next few weeks.
