Intermediate position, Wellington
Bring your data crunching and storytelling skills to NZ On Air, New Zealand’s public media funder. We’re passionate about NZ stories and songs.
NZ On Air invests in screen, music, and radio content so a diversity of New Zealand media is available amid a mass of global content. We are looking for a special person to help us define new ways of using data creatively and contextually to inform funding strategy and decisions. Media content analysis and performance measurement is getting harder: we need a dynamic thinker to analyse the data we have, hunt down new sources, and collate it all into evidence-based thinking to inform both our content investing and our stakeholders.
There’s latitude in this new position to make this your own. We’re open about solutions: the main thing we’re looking for is curiosity, a practical focus on achieving results (not data for data’s sake), a keen interest in media, and strong quantitative and presentation skills that you can use to tell data-driven stories. You’ll be a great communicator and a self-starter.
Reporting to the Head of Funding, you’ll be a team player and bring us knowledge we don’t have. So you needn’t be a media expert (nice if you are) but you will be able to tell us how you’ve used data and insights in your previous jobs to make a difference to decision-making. You’ve probably been in the workforce for around 5 years but we’re open.
We’re a small friendly team that celebrates diversity. You’ll be expected to roll your sleeves up to help others as they need.
