A unique take on a simple farm barn, the transformation of a neglected Auckland bungalow and a stunning family residence on the lakeside of Wakatipu. Our Arts, Culture funding puts a diverse and innovative range of creative New Zealanders on television; this programme celebrates our architects.
This new series in 2014 followed the journeys of local architects as they transformed and created impressive designs around the country.
Hosted by Peter Elliott, The Art of the Architect aimed to raise the awareness and importance of design and architecture. Each episode observed the entire creative process an architect goes through when working on a project. Viewers witnessed the challenges both for the client and the architect, such as those presented by the choice of site, sticking to a budget, responding to our unique environment and for the architect, meeting the client’s expectations.
