Operation Hero is an action-adventure entertainment series where New Zealand kids tackle challenges inspired by the achievements of real-life Kiwi heroes.

This year is the fourth season of the ten-part series and Erin Simpson (The Erin Simpson Show) takes over the reigns as host.

Operation Hero features six 12-14 year-olds who take part in extreme challenges. The players of the game are told a real-life story of heroism and they must then compete in two challenges inspired by the hero’s actions and courage.

NZ On Air aims to provide programming for all local kids, whatever age and stage they’re at. Operation Hero is an important part of this strategy in 2014.

Check out more about the programme on the Operation Hero website or their Facebook page.
