A Kiwi comedy with a unique cultural context
The webseries Flat3 already had two successful self-funded seasons when they were awarded funding from the Digital Media Fund for Season Three. The series is a lo-fi local take on comedies like Sex in the City and Girls, but with three smart and hilarious Asian women living in Auckland as its core cast.

The Flat3 series follows three 20-something girls as they make their way through love, life and a lot of awkward moments. The series appealed to NZ On Air because the team had already gathered a strong and devoted audience when they applied to the Digital Media Fund.
Aside from being very funny, well written and cleverly made, the team has found the right formula for an online series - the right mix of quality and edge, comedy and compelling stories to engage an audience.
Flat3 has received a lot of positive media attention, and in 2014 the series won Best Ensemble Cast at London's Raindance Web Festival.
