Funding review of NZ Film Archive released

NZ On Air has released a new review concerning the NZ Film Archive. New Zealanders Professor Roger Horrocks and Stephanie Hopkins, and the Chief Curator of the National Film and Sound Archive of Australia, Meg Labrum, analysed and assessed the environment around and issues facing the NZ Film Archive. NZ On Air invited the NZ Film Commission, Te Mangai Paho and the Ministry for Culture and Heritage to form a steering group to oversee the work since all are separately involved with the NZFA as funders. The screen industry was also invited to comment.

The review recommends a number of changes to the arrangements governing the NZFA, its preservation priorities, and its funding arrangements.
