Maori Broadcasting

NZ On Air supports Māori programming that is predominantly in English and is aimed at a mainstream New Zealand audience, that includes Māori.

A Māori programme is expected to reflect a Māori perspective, and to address issues of relevance to Māori. The creative team (especially producer, director and/or writer) is expected to be wholly or substantially Māori.

A Māori programme is to be nominated as such in advance of production, by the (Māori) core creative team.
