NZ On Air's digital funding focuses on projects that target special interest audiences: children and youth, ethnic and other minorities in the community, arts and Māori.

For 2012 there was particular focus on content for Pacific audiences for the Kickstart fund.

Digital Media Fund Kickstart

DMF Kickstart is for new projects that push the envelope of creative storytelling, and explore options for new approaches, including multi-channel or transmedia.

With this fund we want to provide an interested audience with something different and/or meaningful through the opportunities afforded by digital media.

DMF Kickstart is a fund of $1,000,000 intended for two or three projects.

For the DMF Kickstart in 2012 we were especially looking for projects whose content is for Pacific audiences, there will be a new focus in 2013.

Key Dates

New dates for 2013 will be announced in May, however the funding round will be in the final quarter of 2013.
