Enabling access to local content

Supporting a small number of digital media projects and platforms that fill a gap in the local content landscape and that meet specific audience needs.

Overview

Our most significant digital investment has been the support of NZ On Screen – the online showcase of NZ television, film and music video, and AudioCulture – the noisy library of NZ music. These two sites find gems from our audiovisual past and present them to new audiences.

In 2013 NZ On Air supported Fresh Voices a stream of multimedia content for The Wireless, a Radio NZ website that aims to produce inspiring, insightful and entertaining stories for young New Zealanders.

In 2017 we are transitioning to a new single strategy and platform neutral fund, the NZ Media Fund. From 1 July 2017 the below projects are absorbed into the Platforms stream of the NZ Media Fund.
