NZ On Air is governed by an independent Board of six members appointed by the Minister of Arts, Culture and Heritage. The Board meets several times a year.

Miriam is a barrister sole. She is a director of Crown Fibre Holdings, a Trustee of the Royal NZ Ballet and Chair of the Banking Ombudsman Scheme. Miriam is also a member of the Remuneration and HR Committee.

Kim is an independent marketing consultant and business adviser. A former CEO of Saatchi & Saatchi, he has worked with many leading New Zealand companies and is an IOD accredited director. Kim chairs the Board's Remuneration and HR Committee.

Ian is the founder and managing director of Animation Research. He is a former children’s television producer and documentary maker. Ian is President of the Institute of IT Professionals. He is also a member of the board of the NZ Film Commission.

Helen has had an international career in TV programme distribution after stints in newspaper and radio. She is a former Director of TVNZ International, Director of National Geographic's TV and film distribution arm in Washington DC, and Managing Director of Explore International, a joint venture distribution company in London. Helen now runs her own international consultancy from New Zealand.

John is a partner in the Wellington office of Minter Ellison Rudd Watts and is an experienced sport, technology, media and entertainment lawyer. He also works in the areas of intellectual property, confidentiality and trade secrets. He is currently a trustee for the Wellington Arts Foundation and Limbs4all Trust and is also a member on the board of the NZ Film Commission.

Stuart is managing partner in a Dunedin Chartered Accountancy firm and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is also an Accredited Fellow of the Institute of Directors and former national president. Stuart is current chair of Scott Technology, Dunedin International Airport, Pharmac, UDC Finance, the Otago Community Hospice and the Management committee of the NZ Sports Hall of Fame. He has previously been on the boards of the Otago Festival of Arts and Hills Radio Trust.
