Introduction

The Platinum Television Fund is a special contestable fund of over $15 million. The Fund supports programmes with something important to say about New Zealand.

It supports quality content which may be currently difficult to find on our screens or which may require a high level of public investment to get made. Prime time programmes are preferred where possible.

Quality Programmes

Platinum programmes aim to inform, educate and entertain a good cross-section of New Zealand. We will announce priorities annually, but quality will always be a focus.

See decisions from July 2009 to June 2012 here (887 PDF). Several more are in development. See the Funding Calendar for application deadlines.

Programme Assessment

We evaluate proposals against a range of criteria, including the strength, creativity and originality of an idea.
